Hebei Hualun Cable Co., Ltd. is one of the most reliable manufacturers and suppliers of aacsr conductor in China. If you're going to wholesale durable aacsr conductor made in China, welcome to get quotation from our factory. All customized products are with high quality and competitive price.

AACSR Conductor is a concentrically stranded conductor composed of one or more layers of 6201-T81 aluminum alloy wire stranded with a high-strength coated steel core. The core may be single wire or stranded depending on the size. The proportions of aluminum alloy and steel can be varied to obtain the relation between current carrying capacity and mechanical strength best suited to each application. Core wire for AACSR is available with Class A, B or C-galvanized; "aluminized" (AZ); or aluminum clad (AW). Additional corrosion protection is available through the application of grease to the core or infusion of the complete cable with grease. These homogeneous conductors in aluminium alloy show many advantages i.e lightness, high breaking load allowing long spans, simplicity of the accessories and lastly easy recycling. These conductors are suitable for the long spans network. Used as bare overhead transmission cable and as primary and secondary distribution cable. Variable steel core stranding enables desired strength to be achieved without sacrificing Ampacity.

Product Q&A

Q: Does the aluminum alloy wire and steel core in AACSR Conductor require tension difference control during stranding?

A: Yes. The elastic modulus and elongation of aluminum alloy wires differ from those of the steel core. If layer tensions are not uniform during stranding, relative slippage between the aluminum alloy wires and the steel core may occur during operation, leading to loose outer layers or local stress concentration. During stranding, the pay-off tension of the aluminum alloy wires and the steel core should be controlled separately according to process requirements.

Q: What measures should be taken when this conductor is installed in areas with high elevation differences?

A: In high-drop installation, the axial tension caused by the conductor's own weight is relatively large. The steel core cross-section should be verified to confirm whether it meets the tension requirements under such drop conditions. Tension stringing is recommended to avoid direct friction between the conductor and the crossarm or tower members at tower positions. If necessary, armor rods or preformed protective fittings should be installed at tower positions.

Q: What is the difference in handling the aluminum alloy wires and the steel core when connecting this conductor?

A: The aluminum alloy wire portion is handled according to the aluminum conductor connection process, with the surface oxide film removed before crimping. The steel core portion carries the mechanical load independently, and a dedicated steel core crimp sleeve should be used for the connection. The full tension shall not be borne solely by the crimping of the aluminum alloy wires. The connection fittings for both parts should be used as a matched set.
