Hebei Hualun Cable Co., Ltd. is one of the most reliable manufacturers and suppliers of covered aerial mv cable in China. If you're going to wholesale durable covered aerial mv cable made in China, welcome to get quotation from our factory. All customized products are with high quality and competitive price.

Covered Aerial MV Cable has a concentrically stranded AAC, AAAC (either compressed or full compact depending on conductor size) or ACSR conductor. The conductor shield is a semi-conducting cross linked polymer. The covering is track-resistant high-density polyethylene (TR-HDPE) or track-resistant cross-linked polyethylene (TK-XLPE). The product includes two installation forms: Tree Wire is used for spans where trees crowd the right-of-way, such as in wooded residential areas, when a minimum of interference with the environment is desired. Covering minimizes power outages due to conductor contact with tree limbs, reducing the need for frequent or severe trimming. Spacer Cable is installed with other spacer cables and a supporting messenger through a series of space-maintaining devices (spacers). The resulting close-proximity configuration minimizes the amount of space and hardware required for line installation, particularly useful in congested areas.

Product Q&A

Q: Under what conditions does the covering of Covered Aerial MV Cable fail?

A: The covering may develop localized carbonization or cracking under long-term tracking. After salt spray or industrial dust deposits adhere to the surface, tracking degradation accelerates. If the covering develops through-cracks or extensive peeling, that section of cable should be replaced and must not continue to be operated as a covered conductor.

Q: What are the requirements for spacers and messenger wire during installation of this cable?

A: In the Spacer Cable installation form, spacers must be used together with a supporting messenger. The spacer spacing is determined by design. The messenger carries the cable's own weight and wind loads, and its cross-section and tension must be verified separately. The cable itself shall not be relied upon to bear the full mechanical load.

Q: How is the covering of this cable handled at joints?

A: At joints, the covering should be stripped back to expose the conductor, and crimping should follow the bare conductor joint procedure. After crimping, insulation and sealing must be restored. Heat-shrink tubing or pre-molded joints compatible with the covering material are recommended, to prevent moisture from entering beneath the covering at the joint.
