XLPE Insulated Unarmoured Cable has conductors of Class 1 or Class 2 of plain or metal-coated annealed copper or plain aluminium or aluminium alloy, or of Class 5 of plain or metal-coated copper. The insulation is XLPE material. These cables are used for electricity supply in low voltage installation systems. They are suitable for installation indoors and outdoors, in cable ducts, under ground, in power and switching stations, local energy distributions, industrial plants, where there is no risk of mechanical damage.

A: The long-term allowable working temperature of XLPE insulation is 90°C. Compared with PVC insulation, XLPE is less prone to softening and deformation at high temperatures, and its insulation resistance decreases more slowly. The maximum short-circuit temperature can reach 250°C.

Q: What are the requirements for pulling force during installation of this cable?

A: For unarmoured cables, the pulling force should be applied to the conductors, not directly to the outer sheath. A pulling grip or pulling head is recommended, and the pulling force shall not exceed the allowable tensile force of the conductor. Keep the cable straight during installation and avoid dragging it on the ground, which may wear the outer sheath.

Q: What should be noted for the outer sheath of this cable during direct burial installation?

A: During direct burial, avoid scratching the outer sheath on stones or sharp objects. Backfill soil should be screened to prevent hard objects from coming into direct contact with the cable surface.
